2009 Holiday Postcards

What's going on here? Why it's our fourth annual Webcomic Holiday Postcard Fundraiser!

A whole bunch of webcomic artists have teamed up to bring you a set of classy holiday themed postcards!

Our secret ulterior motive? By purchasing any of our holiday themed postcard sets, you'll actually be donating to Child's Play, a charity that collects toys and donations for sick children each holiday season!

So what, you may be asking, is so great about these postcards? Well I'm glad you asked! These high quality 4.25"x6" postcards feature original art by some of your favorite webcomic artists, and can be kept as collectable pin-up art or mailed out to your friends for the holidays!
No matter what you do with them, you'll be helping Child's Play to make the holidays a little brighter for kids in need!

This year we've added four new cards to our sets, featuring art by:

Chris Malone
Blue and Blond

H. Caldwell Tanner

Frequently Asked Questions about the Webcomic Holiday Postcard Fundraiser:

Who's involved with this project?

The fundraiser was started in 2006 by Shawn Handyside. In the past three years quite a few awesome webcomic artists have become involved.

These cards are awesome. Can I buy more than one set?

Sure! Go nuts! Who am I to stomp all over your dreams?

When do I get my cards?

All U.S. orders are mailed First-Class (average delivery time 2-4 days) and all other orders are mailed out First-Class International (varies by destination). This time of year I'm doing a trip to the post office each day, so orders are shipped either the same day, or the following day from when they are placed.

Where did you get the idea for this?

Well six years ago I started doing a thing around the holidays where anyone who sent in their mailing address would get a Staccato holiday postcard. Each year it got more popular and I'd send out more postcards, and over the course of three years I learned how to streamline the process and keep it pretty managable, but three years ago I reached a point where as much as I wanted to keep doing it, I wasn't sure I could keep up with the demand. So instead I came up with the idea for this little fundraiser so people still have the option of getting some postcards with my art, and we can also help out a great charity!

But wait, you didn't do a Staccato postcard this year! What's up with that?

Fans of Staccato (both of you) probably know that the strip is still stuck in hiatus, so instead I decided to do some art from another site I started up called Halolz (which has been pretty popular). It's not actually a webcomic, but I'd have felt guilty doing another Staccato card when the strip has only updated a few times this year...

How long will the cards be available for purchase?

This year I've decided to keep them up for sale probably into mid-January (if we have enough left). I don't expect many people to order that late after the holidays, but I will keep it up as an option just in case!

Are these cards nice?

Of course! We get the cards printed by a professional print shop. They have full color fronts B&W backs, and they now ALL have rounded corners!

Note: This year we are using a new printing company to cut down on costs, so the new cards for 2009 will be on a different paper stock and have a different type of glossy finish than previous years.

So what do the back of the cards look like?

Here's a pic of the back of one of the cards. The design has pretty much stayed the same every year, just with different comic logos and copyright information.

I already donated to Child's Play because I'm so cool! Can I get some free postcards?

Nope, sorry! If you want cards you have to donate again here! This is totally seperate from Child's Play, but all the proceeds will go to Child's Play when it's over.
